Coconut, the wonder fruit!

Coconut. Is it the Ultimate Fruit??

Coconut has gotten a bad rap in the past, but researchers are finding new facts about this miracle fruit to prove otherwise.

Coconut oil, meat & cream does contain saturated fat, but these fats are Medium Chain Fatty Acids, which are actually burned for energy, rather than stored in your cells. Lauric Acid, the main fat in Coconuts also helps to lower your risk of heart disease by improving your ratio of total cholesterol to good HDL cholesterol

• Coconut oil is great for the skin and it also kills germs!

• Coconut Oil is great to cook with because it doesn’t oxidize when heated. Oxidation causes unhealthy free radicals. Make sure to buy Extra Virgin Coconut Oil.

• Coconut Oil may help to fight off infections.

• Add some coconut meat to your protein shake to make a heart-healthy, deliciously tasting treat!

• Fresh Coconut water, from a young coconut, is like nature’s Gatorade. It contains all our essential electrolytes, which is perfect post-exercise.

You can also use coconut oil for hair moisturizing and dry skin care.

Studies show the fats in coconut oil actually penetrate the hair shaft, reducing protein loss and improving dry damaged hair.

You can also use coconut oil for dry skin treatments.

Hello Nicole,

Nice post! Thank you for mentioning the unique fat molecules of coconut oil called medium chain fatty acids (MCFA).

Too often, when people talk about coconut oil, they only mention coconut oil is bad because it's SATURATED FAT THIS AND SATURATED FAT THAT. What they almost always forget to say or simply don't know is that coconut oil is mainly MCFAs.

Coconut oil is nature's richest source of MCFAs and is what sets it apart from almost all other dietary oils and fats.

Great job!

Cheers,
Frederick

I'm sure you've heard it a bunch of times but have Liz tell you about Armstrong the coconut guy in Hawaii:) Awesome memory. I love coconuts. I especially love pineapple coconut juice, it's the yummiest. Isn't it amazing how God has truly provided everything we need in nature? We just need to learn to use it.
