Clean Eating Recipe of the Week: Chewy Nut Treats
• 1/4 cup raw, creamy almond butter
• 1 tablespoon cacao powder, unsweetened
• 2 tablespoons honey or agave
• 1/4 cup raw cashews (chopped)
• 1/4 cup raw walnuts (chopped)
• 1/4 cup sunflower seeds
• 1/4 cup raisins
• 1 teaspoon sea salt
•
Stir first three ingredients together and fold in remaining nuts, seeds, raisins and salt. Form into 12 little balls, and place on tin foil sheets in the freezer or refrigerator until firm. I store these in tupperware in the freezer. I have just one a day or every other day. These are not good for you if you eat the entire batch at once : ) They do help with that sweet tooth and chocolate hankering though. Enjoy!

Hi Nicole! This is a perfect recipe! Dont even have to wash out a vitamix with sticky nut butter ball making pieces stuck to the blade :) Nice!
ReplyDeleteAnd i loved your last line. I cannot tell you how many people write to me to tell me they ate an entire batch of raw vegan choc chip cookie dough or xyz dessert of mine but they truly feel guiltless "because it's raw vegan". I'm like umm it had 1 c of nuts and 2 c of dates in it and agave and choco, etc...they dont quite get it but hey, enjoy life right :)
Girl still no activity here, lots of showings, no offers. Sigh. Soon we will do dates with nut balls in person :)

THese sound so good! I don't like nuts, generally speaking, but I eat them every so often because they're good for me. Honey and cacoa will help! ;-) I will have to print this off! Thanks for sharing it!
ReplyDeleteThose sound GREAT!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat recipe for curbing that sweet tooth. I agree that these need to be eaten in moderation. That is why I freeze my batch and defrost them one at a time.
ReplyDeleteYummy! Those are right up my alley. They are a great on-the-go snack :-)
ReplyDeleteoh these do look good..i kinda make little bowls of this with cereal daily almost :) probably should make teh balls and then set a limit of eating 1!
ReplyDeleteI really try to keep it to one but sometimes a 2nd one sneaks in there, heehee : )
