Workouts in Review: Exhale Core Fusion Yoga Energy Flow

Guess what? Exhale Mind Body Spa has come out with another great workout and it is available for sale today! Core Fusion Yoga Energy Flow is the newest release from Acacia. Acacia has done a wonderful job releasing fun, innovative workouts and this one is no exception. I have enjoyed many of the Exhale workouts but I especially like this one as it incorporates traditional yoga moves with some unique Exhale moves.

I received this DVD about a month ago and thought it would be good to add to my Insanity workouts on my rest days. Okay, maybe I was a little wrong. This is a tough workout! I would say if you're looking for a relaxing yoga workout, look elsewhere. This is a high-energy strength, power yoga and the music is very upbeat so if you are expecting a Zen garden sound, so sorry. I was glad for the upbeat music once I figured out the intensity of the workout. My legs, abs and buns were sore the next day which is always a plus as far as I'm concerned. If your goal is to get long, lean muscles I would definitely add this DVD to your collection!

The workout when done in it's entirety is 50-minutes long. It is split up into five 10-minute workouts so you can do as many or as few as you like. The workout options are as follows:

Energy Flow
Sun Salutations Part 1
Sun Salutations Part 2
Chi Gong & Hip Opener Stretches
Core & Gluteal
Bonus: Savasana & Stretches

I was really grateful for the bonus savasana and stretches. Stretching is so important to avoid injury and build lean, toned muscles. Besides, who doesn't want to stretch and relax? I found that when I was short for time I did just a couple of the sections then followed it with the savasana, perfect!

Also included on the DVD is a sample workout from Exhale Lean & Toned as well as a sample of Weight Loss Cardio Sculpt. You can also read the instructors, Fred De Vito and Elisabeth Halfpapp's, biographies. They have so much experience teaching and if that isn't enough evidence of their abilities, just look at their 50+ toned bodies! I sure hope I can look like that when I'm in my fifties : )

I hope you enjoy this workout as much as I did! Remember to vary your workouts and always keep them interesting and fun. I guarantee with that method you will never get bored!

A special thank you to Alyssa at Acacia for allowing me to preview this wonderful workout!

I'm always looking for new yoga dvds, since I can't get to yoga classes anymore. I haven't really found one that I like, so I might have to try this one out. Thanks for the great review (as always)!

Have you ever done the yoga that is in P90X? I'm curious to how this one would compare. I love the intensity of that workout but like most folks, don't always have 90 minutes to devote to it. I'd love a shorter alternative for busy days.

Yes, I have Deb. This is intense but in a different way. It has some unique moves that work the legs really well. It's kind of like they mixed pilates in here and there. A great mix!
